Mary Macleod’s has been proudly Canadian since 1981. What started in Toronto has grown into a beloved Canadian bakery, with our shortbread now enjoyed by customers across the country and beyond.
Women-Owned, Family-Run
What began with Mary continues with her family. Today, Mary Macleod’s is proudly women-owned and family-run, with the third generation now joining the business. Jasmine Macleod is bringing her own perspective to the family business while helping carry forward the values and traditions that have shaped Mary Macleod’s from the beginning.
The Art of Shortbread
We believe great shortbread starts with how it’s made. At our Toronto bakery, our shortbread is made in small batches using time-honoured techniques and real, carefully selected ingredients. From the mixing to the final bake, every step is handled with care.
It Starts With the Ingredients
We keep our ingredients simple and choose them with purpose. Our shortbread is made with real creamery butter from the same co-op Mary chose when she started the bakery, along with carefully selected ingredients from Canadian and trusted local suppliers. No oils, fillers or preservatives. Just the good stuff that belongs in great shortbread.
